Art Direction (including prop work)
Right after graduating college, I decided that I wanted to go into film, but was burned out on school. So I started working in the film industry--I figured I'd learn in the trenches. So I worked on this Corey Haim sequel C-film as a production assistant. I noticed these other crew people leaving the set when we arrived and it seemed like so much fun what they were doing--creating the imaginary environment. So I decided that was what I wanted to do for awhile. I was very lucky and got a break working with a very talented art department on Sam Raimi's THE QUICK AND THE DEAD and had a blast on the film. I loved all of the research, creating and attention to obscure details. I ended up getting to build a huge skeleton and a lot of other touches that appear in the film. I love the virtual time travel in movie making, next best thing to a TARDIS.
